Hello Ujjval, We use the Packetsmart product for LAN assessments and QoS monitoring when we feel customer networks are suspect. The product works really well and pricing has gotten a lot better since Packet Island owned it. Let me know if you have any questions, I'd be glad to help. Hi Guys, Just wondering if y'all can help me out here. We've just bought a couple of ACME boxes and the Australian support has disappeared (quit) and our reseller is struggling to find appropriate support contacts. Strange Call Flow

I'm seeing a strange call flow from a client with a Cisco CUBE setup. This is happening when they attempt to forward a call from their system to a PSTN line. SBC CUBE | ----------INVITE---------> | | <------100 Trying--------- | | <------180 Trying--------- | | <--183 Session Progress--- | | <--------200 OK----------- | I've never seen a call setup that switched from a 180 Ringing to a 183 Session Progress mid-setup before, and it seems to be doing funny things to the media transport through our SBC (we see audio come in from one of the call legs but it doesn't get forwarded to the other call leg). Is this a legal call flow that we should add to our tests when evaluating new hardware? Has anyone seen problems like this before? Tim

Looping detection and prevention

Hello list, We are wondering how other VoIP providers/carriers handle incoming SIP call looping. What detection and remediation solutions is the general community out there currently using or have heard good things about. Right now we are currently thinking of a SNORT or some other IPS based solution that can match on repeated SIP requests matching the same caller/called within a certain time frame and then perform some sort of remediation. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Replacement for Google 411

Well I just tried 800-bing-411 and it works just like Google did. I guess I just answered my own question. Now hopefully they won't shut it down any time soon like Google. "We're number 2, we try harder..." I need to research our call records and see if anyone dials this. I can't imagine why anyone would. We only serve businesses and they all have computers. Then again, why does anyone still use fax? This may sound strange, but we've always routed customer 411 calls to Google's 411 service. They like it, and it's free. But it's being turned off. Anyone have ideas on an alternate? Were are you sending your customers' 411 calls? -- Carlos Alvarez TelEvolve 602-889-3003

Anyone have any suggestions regarding which existing ICA might be the most favorable in terms of collocation in AT&T wire centers? Also, an idea of how the TRRO affects UNE dark fiber availability (same market)? ~SP
