Maintenance for Performance Technologies SEGway

We have been using a set of PTI SEGway x201s with point code emulation for a number of years now. We also have an unlicensed spare in stock. The maintenance contract renewals are due and the two quotes I've received are quite high. I know of at least one other company that has chosen to drop the vendor maintenance and take care of that in-house. I would like to hear from anyone that is currently using SEGways and find out what they chose to do for maintenance. I would also be very interested to hear of any bad experiences from chosing the in-house option. Thanks. Caller-ID: SIP From vs. P-Asserted-Identity

Question for the experts: We have a scenario where a SIP user originates a call to the PSTN (not 9-1-1) with a SIP From: header containing one DID and P-Asserted-Identity showing a different DID. We expect the carrier to use the P-Asserted-Identity for billing and recordkeeping but send the SIP From: out as the CLID to be displayed to the called party. Typically this is done in a call center type scenario where an agent wants the CLID to display the main number of the agent pool and not the specific DID of the agent. Another scenario is a customer PRI-based PBX that hairpins inbound calls back out to a traveling user and wants to preserve the original caller's information. One of our terminating carriers uses the P-Asserted-Identity as the displayed CLID and not the SIP From:. I feel that this is not correct. Opinions? Numbers have been changed to protect the guilty... 3rd Pary SIP support for Avaya phones

Can any Avaya experts out there tell me if the SIP-based Avaya IP Office 9600 phone can be used in a 3rd party SIP environment? I've had a chat with one of their online sales reps who says that "to the best of his knowledge" they will not work and Avaya won't support it. He suggested that I contact my local Avaya dealer for a more definitive answer. I think it's probably technically possible (though I've never touched one so I don't know that for sure) but I'm wondering if Avaya supports it (ie can I purchase a support contract so I can open a ticket on an issue). Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks -Adam

Ultratec Uniphone 1140 + Printer Problems ... Suggestions ?

Thought I would throw this past this list. Were setting up the subject listed devices (1 to be exact) and was curious if anyone has experience with these or similiar setups ? Currently were having trouble getting this thing to print and have verified that the printer is appending CR to LF as it should but the Teletype is not outputing anything that can be seen to the HP Laserjet 1300. If anyone has some experience in setting up a Uniphone 1140 or Teletype with a printer, assistance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. -- - (2^(N-1)) JJH48-ARIN
