Maintenance for Performance Technologies SEGway

We have been using a set of PTI SEGway x201s with point code emulation for a number of years now. We also have an unlicensed spare in stock. The maintenance contract renewals are due and the two quotes I've received are quite high. I know of at least one other company that has chosen to drop the vendor maintenance and take care of that in-house. I would like to hear from anyone that is currently using SEGways and find out what they chose to do for maintenance. I would also be very interested to hear of any bad experiences from chosing the in-house option. Thanks. airport connectivity?

My question is not specifically voice related but I thought this would be a good knowledgeable group to ask. I am going to have to bring connectivity into every major airport in the US. Basically every airport that has commercial traffic. I do not need anything high-speed DS1s would be fine. Years ago I worked on a project where Broad Wing was the provider. They delivered DS3 Hubs to the customer and would install DS1 s for a flat rate. Is this type of product still around? Cheers Ryan

Canadian Toll Free

Greetings VoiceOpers, There are a handful of US SIP carriers who offer the promise of doing business in Canada with Canadian DID's. The challenge we've seen is that when you call some toll free numbers from those Canadian DID's the call gets blocked by the far end, presumably because the switching equipment is in the US. No issues dialing the same numbers from the US. We've attempted to deliver these calls over numerous different carriers with the same results. Talking with some of these carriers, we're told this is a known frustration and noone seems to have a way around it. The only thing that has helped even a little is if the customer is willing to use a toll free number as the Originating ANI, but even then it is spotty. We're not trying to do any sort of toll bypass or anything unsavory. Just want to be able to serve US customers who happen to also have some Canadian locations. Anyone have a solve for this? Anyone else having issues with SIP and Comcast Gateways?

Is anyone else getting issues with Comcast gateways like the ones below? http://www.cisco.com/web/consumer/support/modem_DPC3939.html or http://www.netgear.com/service-providers/products/cable/gateways/cg3000dcr.… The symptoms are complete modem crash forcing a reboot after an extension to extension call gets placed. Calls that are placed in bound and out bound do not make the modem crash. There isn?t a way to turn off the SIP ALG on these devices either per Comcast and bridging them and putting our own equipment behind it still causes the issue. We ended up having to replace the modem supplied by Comcast completely and installing a supported device ourselves which worked.
