Maintenance for Performance Technologies SEGway

We have been using a set of PTI SEGway x201s with point code emulation for a number of years now. We also have an unlicensed spare in stock. The maintenance contract renewals are due and the two quotes I've received are quite high. I know of at least one other company that has chosen to drop the vendor maintenance and take care of that in-house. I would like to hear from anyone that is currently using SEGways and find out what they chose to do for maintenance. I would also be very interested to hear of any bad experiences from chosing the in-house option. Thanks. Integration : LexisNexis > Time Matters & Broadsoft Integration

Does anyone have any information or know of anyone who has established an integration between LexisNexis Time Matters (?OSS/BSS/CRM for lawyers?) product and Broadsoft? So far we?re not finding any hits via the Broadsoft xchange portal. Thanks in advance, Brian

I don't think we have a formal destination for requests like these, but VS can certainly identify the customer responsible, and block any traffic from a specific ANI to specific DNIS. I think it would be up the the customer's account manager or that product's manager to decide if any action should be taken against, or notification provided to the customer. FW: Strange porting issue

Hi folks, We have an upstream CLEC who ported a number from us from a LEC I've never heard of. Comes up as "LAFAYETTE CITY-PARISH CONSOLIDATED GOVERNMENT-LA" - OCN 9002 / LATA 488. The upstream provider we use is generally pretty good and insists the port has completed and translations are dropped at the old carrier. But when we do an LRN query on the number, we get back the same LEC as if the port did not complete. I'm a bit stumped here. Even more, I can't find any existence of a LEC named Lafayette City yadda yadda yadda ... What's one to do in such a scenario? Anyone ever dealt with this? Is this not even a rural LEC but some sort of government owned municipal LEC? - Darren

Is it possible for US DID to have Canadian service address?

Good day, Coming from Canadian CLEC background. Have tricky question for US LNP and associated guidelines, truly looking for your feedback. For the purposes of LNP, is it possible for US number to have Canadian service address? Major US CLEC does not even allow us to enter Canadian address that we know is a service address for a US DID we want to port-in with them. So I conclude either of the two possibilities is true: (1) Their portal is doing right, and the Canadian address we are trying to enter is not the true service address for the number in question. We should dig deeper and there must be some (perhaps place-holder) US address behind the DID. OR (2) Their portal is not implemented right, and simply is not designed with this small but possible special case in mind. So which of the statements would be true? Many thanks, -Victor

SMS Confirmation Messages just... Stopped

After a customer came to us asking "Hey, we used to get SMS confirmations from our bank, but now we don't" we looked into things a bit. Turns out SMS messages came from this set of Canadian DIDs, a mix of Fido Communications and Rogers Wireless numbers: DID SMSes since Oct 10, 2015 +1 416-831-8764 17 +1 416-832-0534 22 +1 416-832-9571 10 +1 416-833-0513 11 +1 514-549-6142 20 +1 514-562-4790 14 +1 613-219-5798 17 +1 613-252-8695 13 +1 613-255-6723 16 +1 613-255-6948 16 +1 613-255-8743 11 +1 613-262-1558 7 +1 613-262-5338 12 +1 613-262-5944 10 +1 613-262-8114 11 +1 613-291-3026 17 +1 613-614-1453 13 +1 613-697-8730 13 +1 613-890-6922 19 +1 647-686-2308 11 +1 647-818-2312 18 24 customers receive SMS messages from one or more of these entities to either log into their account (Two Factor Authentication) or get important notifications about their business with these companies. The SMS Confirmation Messages seem to have came from multiple sources across these numbers: * GrubHub * PayPal * Singapore Airlines * Citibank * Healthcare.Gov * KrisFlyer * Facebook * TicketMaster * Square * Thumbtack They came in every now and then as one might expect. But then, after January 16, 2016, they stopped. I assume that since there were multiple entities sending outbound SMS messages from Canada numbers that there was a single service/entity behind all of those confirmation messages. I have two theories -- 1. They moved to Short Codes, which our non-wireless numbers cannot receive (thank you Incumbent wireless carriers - sarcasm dripping thank you) 2. Their DIDs got shut down for use outside of the Terms & Conditions Does anyone know anything about such a service? Why all of the SMS messages stopped on that one day? Park Button on Polycom Phones

Anyone know how to make an enhanced feature key (EFK) on Polycom VVX phones that lets you park a call on a line you are monitoring. Ideal condition would be to hit the park button on an active call, and then hit the line/blf you want to park the call on. The EFK's I have seen out there want you to manually enter the extension of where you would like to park the call. That is not ideal.

Instant Porting

How do cellular carriers perform almost instant porting of number, and why can't landline providers do the same? For example if I take my Sprint cell phone to an AT&T store, and switch over to AT&T they can do this almost instantly. I met someone one time at a tradeshow claiming they could do same day porting for landline numbers just as the cellular industry did, but I was not sure how he was doing it or if it was a myth. I know cell systems are more automated and require a pin.
