So NPAC recently moved from NeuStar to iconectiv.
As far as I was aware, my client just used them for a portal to do number ports. I see all kinds of things about costs of VPNs, DS1s, 100 meg Ethernet, etc. All of that seems awfully ancillary to being a portal for entering port requests.
What else do they do? Should I be interested in it?
Neustar still thinks that they're the ones handling our porting, but as far as I can tell, the running of that transferred from Neustar to iconectiv. If iconectiv is running the system now, why would I want to use someone else for port order entry?

My client is asking me to setup CABS billing for them. I only really see this being relevant to inter-carrier compensation. Where can I find more resources about how that works?
Is inter-carrier compensation is something we'd be billing the tandem operator or each company sending us calls?
Note: I'm primarily a data\SIP guy, but I've been thrown into telco hell.

We used to bill CABS through Mid American Computer corp. They would eat up our CDRs and the data feed from the Verizon tandem. Generate CABS invoice and mail to the carrier. They would also act as an aggregator for the smaller carriers so we wouldn?t spend $1 to generate a $0.3 invoice

Right. I got the 30k foot view (apparently short of who receives the bill). Looking to get a bit deeper.

Intercarrier compensation of the CABS variety is where a LEC bills the
IXC for inter-LATA calls terminated to them by that IXC.
