We currently get our SS7 via TNS. I (maybe incorrectly) understand them to be a big dog in that space. I've had two major problems with them in six months. What are my alternatives? VoIP SMS Campaign Fees

Sorry if this was already discussed and I missed it. I saw a notice on our Voip Innovations account today that any business DID's that send SMS messages to a consumer in any way now have to be registered with 'Campaignregistry.com' Looks like this requires a $200 signup, and then potentially $10/month/DID. Anyone already gone through this? Talking to VI, it seems they're not even sure, but it's a VI requirement to be registered by Dec 15. The whole process seems confusing. VI Makes it seem like non-compliance will be expensive. $10,000/violation keeps being referenced. Would each one of my customers be considered a separate campaign at $10/month?

T-Mobile Originated Calls - No Ringback

I'm not sure if this has come up here before, I couldn't find anything specific, but I'm seeing an issue where calls originating from T-Mobile to other carriers are not generating ringback. The call is indeed ringing on the other end, but on the T-Mobile phone, it's just dead air until the person on the other end answers the call. It's not all calls, but it is reproducible to certain phone numbers and reproducible using various T-Mobile customers. It's not limited to a single phone T-Mobile number/customer. Further troubleshooting has shown that calls from other providers (ie AT&T, Verizon Wireless) do not have this problem to the same numbers the issue can be reproduced from T-Mobile. It's only calls from T-Mobile numbers to other phone numbers outside of T-Mobile so far. The no ringback issue seems to occur whether you're on wifi calling or on a cell tower. All of the T-Mobile users we can reproduce the issue with are in Southern California. Not sure if any of this matters. I tried to deal with customer service and opened a ticket that supposedly was escalated to engineering, but of course that fell on deaf ears and the response I got was basically "Can't reproduce, it's not our problem" 8-/ ... Any T-Mobile engineers on this list that could help or any recommendations on how to raise attention to this problem to someone at T-Mobile with a clue? Gabe

Caller ID Spoofing Fraud

One of my customers is having his Caller ID number spoofed when a fraudster calls his Payroll company, and is trying to get the payroll company to make changes to his account. The Payroll company does make a return call to verify a password with my customer, so no fraud has happened yet. There is nothing that I can do for my customer to assist with this, since I'm not involved anywhere in the call path, correct? The payroll company would have to open a fraud report with their carrier for any investigation? Nate Burke Blast Communications

TNS SS7 Outage

Does anyone have any information on the TNS SS7 outage going on now? Both of our A-links go to different facilities (Chicago and Ashburn) over different VPNs (which are up). TNS has acknowledged that it's a carrier issue. Verizon Call Completion Issues

I was having call completion issues with Verizon Wireless, so I routed around them and put in a ticket with Frontier (tandem operator). Instead of the usual snarky responses, I got back activity. They actually dispatched someone to the CO. They saw issues and escalated with Verizon. They later said that VZB confirmed there's a higher-level issue, but wouldn't give any ticket information. DIDWW API DNS Issue

DIDWW seems to be midway between moving from GoDaddy DNS to their own internal DNS. Their DNS Servers are cached for 1 hour. We started seeing DNS failures for api.didww.com which returns no entries from ;; AUTHORITY SECTION: didww.com. 3600 IN NS ns14.domaincontrol.com. didww.com. 3600 IN NS ns13.domaincontrol.com. However, when querying the root .com DNS servers, their NS records changed web1 : /usr/local/apps --> dig didww.com @a.gtld-servers.net ;; AUTHORITY SECTION: didww.com. 172800 IN NS ns1.didww.com. didww.com. 172800 IN NS ns2.didww.com. We have hardcoded the IP for api.didww.com and web-fe-api.didww.com to continue API operations with DIDWW until the DNS caches expire and the new information is updated. Please, y'all -- when doing a DNS migration, ensure 1000% that your DNS records on your old DNS provider match your DNS records on your new DNS provider, and plan your DNS migration early by setting the TTL for your NS records at least to 5 minutes (300 seconds) if allowed, 30 seconds if you can. Assume all caching servers will cache for 5 minutes even if you set it to 30 seconds. Verizon Wireless Contact

Hello everyone, I know this is a long shot, but I'm hoping someone on here works for Verizon Wireless or knows someone that is in a position to assist us. Recently, a change to call routing occurred and Verizon Wireless calls are now being delivered across our tandem instead of a SIP peer. Ideally, I would like to establish a SIP trunk to Verizon Wireless but changing the call flow is the short term goal. Thanks in advance for your help!
