Initially we got reports from our outlying offices using SIP that the calls were dropping. Initial traces showed that the calls never dropped. Then we have several offices around the country and all joined on a conf bridge also using IM sessions. At random intervals the call stayed up but we could not hear each other. We use a Audiocodes mediant and started to see RTP offers changing in the middle of our side of the calls. The IP was our IP to the Dash Atlanta SBC. We called dash and they said that the Denver SBC was having issues and they were rerouting a lot of calls to the Atlanta SBC. We got a email from Dash shortly after that saying the Firewall in front of the SBC was having problems and I guess they bounced it... Anyway the RTP issues cleaned up..Gotta love SIP V/r Chris Ledford CCNA VOICE/CCSP Comptia A+/Net+/Linux+/Sec+ T3 Engineer http://navy.togetherweserved.com/profile/13552 ________________________________ From: Alex Balashov [mailto:abalashov at evaristesys.com] Sent: Wednesday, January 12, 2011 11:06 PM To: Chris Ledford Cc: voiceops at voiceops.org Subject: Re: [VoiceOps] RTP issues to Dash Atlanta SBC Just to clarify, how do you know it's RTP drops that are the problem? Do you have some means of intercepting the RTP streams at Dash's Atlanta POP and checking the integrity of yours? Or are you getting this from RTCP reports from their side? If you are looking at the RTP as it leaves your own network and seeing drops, you already know your problem and it has nothing to do with Dash. If none of the above, how do you know RTP is the problem, and not some other issue (on their side or yours) that can cause quality anomalies, which I presume to be the symptom leading to your diagnosis? -- Alex Balashov - Principal Evariste Systems LLC 260 Peachtree Street NW Suite 2200 Atlanta, GA 30303 Tel: +1-678-954-0670 Fax: +1-404-961-1892 Web: <http://www.evaristesys.com/> http://www.evaristesys.com/ On Jan 12, 2011, at 11:45 PM, Chris Ledford <chris.ledford at cnxntech.com<mailto:chris.ledford at cnxntech.com>> wrote: Sorry all I meant to say RTP drops to the Atlanta SBC.
