Yeah, that works, though definitely talk to the LCG guy beforehand if you want to party in high-volume ways. I've also found that interface quite sluggish performance-wise at times.
Neustar also provides their PortPS interface to customers for real time pool and LNP data, but I have not looked into API interfaces to that.
Neustar does have an LNP-over-SIP product, but it's quite expensive and restrictive in the usual way. The best bet for real-time queries is to go to an STP operator like VeriSign who resells this information[1], or someone like Broadvox, who presumably resells that or something fraternal.
