On our system, we'd have them sitting in our IVR for hours before we shunted them to voicemail. We get over it, but the customers aren't so happy when it happens (the empty calls) to them. ----- Mike Hammett Intelligent Computing Solutions http://www.ics-il.com Midwest Internet Exchange http://www.midwest-ix.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Peter Beckman" <beckman at angryox.com> To: "Mike Hammett" <voiceops at ics-il.net> Cc: "Richard Jobson" <richard at teraquant.com>, "VoiceOps" <voiceops at voiceops.org> Sent: Tuesday, December 13, 2022 5:03:37 PM Subject: Re: [VoiceOps] Empty Calls On Sun, 11 Dec 2022, Mike Hammett via VoiceOps wrote:
Clearing the calls if they're silent sounds interesting. I'll look to see if we can do that.
Just make sure both sides of the call are silent -- otherwise you may clear a call in the middle of someone leaving a voicemail. It's an issue we are having with our Australia DIDs at the moment! 30 seconds of silence from the Voicemail recording end while the caller is talking and they hang up. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Peter Beckman Internet Guy beckman at angryox.com https://www.angryox.com/ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- _______________________________________________ VoiceOps mailing list VoiceOps at voiceops.org https://puck.nether.net/mailman/listinfo/voiceops
