I don't think I have this option from our wholesaler, so I will have to ask them to implement it. So can you assign an extension to this intercept user? Does intercept have a start feature code? Like I wanted option 1 of the auto attendant to be an intercept with play a message, how would I make prompt 1 do that? It's under intercept group in utilities under the group. It allows you to redirect a call to another location or play a greeting when a number is called.

Mark,
What is intercept user, and how do you enable it? We are using a wholesaler, and they have never mentioned this feature.

We use intercept user with a custom message and that works well for a message only.

Is the ?Greeting-Only Mailbox? a way to solve this problem? See GreetingOnlyMailboxOptionFD-R180.pdf in xchange.

Broadsoft introduced a new type of AA license (AA Standard) in R20 that allows for multiple layer auto attendants. It is not the perfect solution for your scenario, but it is slightly better than having to use multiple AA basic licenses.
Good luck,

The only way I can see possible is to burn a voice mailbox license and make a *55 to the voicemail box with the recording as the message, or use another auto attendant tree for the announcement. Both options are expensive. Does broadsoft have a play a media file option I don't know about? Something where you could assign a wave file to an extension?
