The upgrade for patch-tool can be run live, but I always run it in a maintenance window to be safe. Worst comes to worst if the patchtool upgrade fails your actual upgrade is delayed. This is better than running an update with an out-of-date version of patchtool that could cause the system upgrade to fail or leave things in a funky state. Plus Broadsoft TAC might scold you if you do have an issue after upgrading on an old patchtool. -Scott -----Original Message----- From: voiceops-bounces at voiceops.org [mailto:voiceops-bounces at voiceops.org] On Behalf Of Hiers, David Sent: Wednesday, August 05, 2009 5:34 PM To: voiceops at voiceops.org Subject: [VoiceOps] broadsoft patchtool Hi, What's your upgrade stance on BW's patchtool? Its recommend to upgrade it when you patch, but the thing is always running. You can't run tech-support without invoking patchtool, for instance.
