I realize billing for that type of call is almost nothing now days... but wouldn't that go from a call that has no billing charge what so ever to a call with a tiny bill tied to it since it was answered? If you are ATT that could add up?
Just curious since it was brought up.

FROM: VoiceOps <voiceops-bounces at voiceops.org> on behalf of Mike Hammett <voiceops at ics-il.net> SENT: Friday, August 16, 2019 11:24:05 AM TO: Voiceops.org <voiceops at voiceops.org> SUBJECT: [VoiceOps] AT&T Answering Misdials
I misdialed a number (312) 817-1629 and got the message, "At no additional charge, AT&T can help you find a similar business in the same area, since the number you called is not in service." It then went into an IVR.
Is this common?
Does this break any automated systems?
No, I have no desire to implement this on our numbers.
