Hi David, My concern is that once it gets too big, the numbers of emails will become unmanageable. True enough; the signal to noise ratio can get pretty low in big lists. However, if we're doomed to die as ancient, bloated Rome did, at least we can sack a few interesting countries along the way :) David Hiers CCIE (R/S, V), CISSP ADP Dealer Services 2525 SW 1st Ave. Suite 300W Portland, OR 97201 o: 503-205-4467 f: 503-402-3277 -----Original Message----- From: Brad Anouar [mailto:Brad at broadcore.com] Sent: Wednesday, August 05, 2009 11:19 AM To: Hiers, David; voiceops at voiceops.org Subject: RE: critical mass Hi David, My concern is that once it gets too big, the numbers of emails will become unmanageable. NANOG has been able to do a sufficient job of moderation with a huge number of people on the list. I'm sure the same can be done, clearly written rules and swift hands at the controls are all that is required. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Peter Beckman Internet Guy beckman at angryox.com http://www.angryox.com/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'd love to see this list self-managed based on concepts like respect and professionalism, but if that turns out not to be possible we can adopt a similar charter/usage policy to NANOG. In the mean time be nice :) -Scott -----Original Message----- From: voiceops-bounces at voiceops.org [mailto:voiceops-bounces at voiceops.org] On Behalf Of Peter Beckman Sent: Wednesday, August 05, 2009 2:47 PM To: Hiers, David Cc: voiceops at voiceops.org Subject: Re: [VoiceOps] critical mass On Wed, 5 Aug 2009, Hiers, David wrote:
