In days long past I bought a Redback SMS-1800 off eBay and paid Redback to get it re-certified. Once it was re-certfied I could buy a support contract on the box. It was still cheaper than buying new, best of both worlds I guess. I don't know if Acme provides re-certification but it wouldn't hurt to ask. It seems very wasteful to junk a perfectly good piece of hardware because the vendor only wants to sell new. -Matt -- Matthew S. Crocker President Crocker Communications, Inc. The problem in the telecom enterprise market tends to be that recertification fees are so obscenely high as to be as cost- prohibitive to small companies as buying new, even if it is technically cheaper. You got lucky with the Redback. -- Alex Balashov - Principal Evariste Systems LLC 1170 Peachtree Street 12th Floor, Suite 1200 Atlanta, GA 30309 Tel: +1-678-954-0670 Fax: +1-404-961-1892 On Apr 2, 2010, at 2:46 PM, "Matthew S.
