CLEC - SIP handoff from the LECs

Good Evening Is it possible for a CLEC to get a SIP handoff from the LECs or is TDM still requested? Cheers Ryan

Not that I have seen yet. I hear rumblings that a couple are looking into it but, as far as I can tell, their just giving us lip-service. Some of the ILEC/RLEC companies are doing it though.... so I hear. Kidd On Wed, Apr 27, 2016 at 8:58 PM, Ryan Finnesey <ryan at finnesey.com> wrote:

It is possible and they are able to do so. It's the legal and billing side of the house that has them held up. But by end of year iVoIP will be the way we all connect. Erik F On Thu, Apr 28, 2016 at 5:19 AM, Kidd Filby <kiddfilby at gmail.com> wrote:

Would either of these be sufficient? Both have nationwide footprint. http://www.level3.com/en/solutions/sip-voice-complete/ https://www22.verizon.com/wholesale/solutions/solution/SIP%2BGateway%2BServi...

I believe those are finished services so you wouldnt be able to route your own NXXs over them - you'd have to get NXXs from them but yes you could use it if you don't mind using their NXXs. On May 1, 2016 at 4:41 PM Eric Wieling <ewieling at nyigc.com> wrote:

Soon you will be able to connect with SIP just not now. Its not the technology as we know but more the legal side trying to sort through making money etc. On May 1, 2016 12:06 PM, "Mary Lou Carey" <marylou at backuptelecom.com> wrote:

Becoming an interconnected VOIP provider is a lot less costly than becoming a CLEC and it allows you to order your own NXXs and use the third party carrier's host switch product. That would be the cheapest route to go! Mary Lou Carey BackUP Telecom Consulting Marylou at backuptelecom.com Office: 615-791-9969 Cell: 615-796-1111
