We are searching for a wholesale voice platform provider (broadsoft, metaswitch, etc) and I am reaching out to this list for suggestions. We need to be able to utilize our Origination and Termination providers and E911 provider. We would like to have API access for provisioning from our B/OSS system, but this is not required. We handle both residential voice and business UC services.

Broadsoft / Broadcloud - depending on your topology / infrastructure and your capital requirements (OPEX v CAPEX) Broadsoft had the best, most versatile (and reliable) solution in the market - hands down. Alex Hardie Sent from my iPhone

A great open source competitor to Broadsoft etc, would be Kazoo by 2600hz. We leverage their APIs to tied into our E911 and abilities to purchase and provision TNs in real time, with a great UI for our clients. You should check it out. Mark, did you build your platform from the open source stack or did you contract with 2600 directly? Thx Thanks, Shripal

Both actually. When first available for geek purposes. However when business began to thrive I contracted with 2600hz so I could focus on the business side. I couldn?t agree more. We started out with a Broadsoft reseller, but switched to 2600hz years ago and never looked back. It?s a much more intuitive UI, and we have experienced an improvement in stability. To be fair though, I can?t say if that was a Broadsoft thing or a reseller thing for sure?. -- Shoe Ron Shoe President, Chief Telecomolologist SIP Oasis, Inc. (205) 383-2301 ? Direct (205) 383-2331 ? Mark, So you are hosting on your own servers today but you are now migrating to their own hosted platform where they operate the infrastructure? It seems that most people will start out on hosted to save upfront costs and then eventually migrate to their own platform to save money over time. You're doing it opposite so if possible, can you elaborate on how this will reduce your ops costs enough to actually offset the additional costs of paying them for hosting instead of you doing it yourself? Is there a large cost in them hosting it vs. you doing your own servers? Thanks On Fri, Jun 30, 2017 at 10:32 AM, Mark Diaz <mdiaz at vinixglobal.com> wrote:

We need to be able to utilize our Origination and Termination providers and E911 provider. We would like to have API access for provisioning from our B/OSS system, but this is not required. We handle both residential voice and business UC services.

Hi Darin, So there are two services they offer in respect to this: their own hosted service and their PaaS (platform as a service). The PaaS is essentially your own bare metal servers but in their racks and ops managed network. At first, to build client base, it pays to use their hosted. But when you want your own services, modifications and infrastructure , you need to have your own cluster/infrastructure. PaaS gives us that without the need of a full blown OPs team and NOC with overhead of DCs and bandwidth contracts and management. While that's built into the price of the service with 2600hz, we have the very team who manages the core software and with their volume collectively, we share in the overall reduction in cost. After a consideration of the numbers and overall benefits, it just made perfect sense to use their PaaS offering: less overall management and cost. Given our confidence in the future of 2600hz and the Kazoo platform, it made perfect sense. Mark, That's very valuable information. One other question about 2600hz. Do they have a billing module for handling your customer database and billing/payments, etc. or do you use a third party platform that's integrated in to make sure every DID and seat gets properly billed to your customers? I can imagine as you scale it can be difficult to be sure that what you have in Kazoo is the same with what is being billed to customers. Anytime Darin, Currently the integrated billing is not complete. However, the essentials are all there: full CDRS which you can implement rate decks, per min/sec billing, API to grab all account information, etc. so currently we offload that info to a billing platform and tax company. At least until the core billing is complete. We will re-evaluate once that is released. Enswitch (https://integrics.com/enswitch/) . We use them for our class 5 + billing. For wholesale we use JERASOFT for billing + MVTS Daniel On Fri, Jun 30, 2017 at 7:27 PM, Mark Diaz <mdiaz at vinixglobal.com> wrote:
Anytime Darin,
Currently the integrated billing is not complete. However, the essentials are all there: full CDRS which you can implement rate decks, per min/sec billing, API to grab all account information, etc. so currently we offload that info to a billing platform and tax company. At least until the core billing is complete. We will re-evaluate once that is released.

Mark,
That's very valuable information.
Thank you

Hi Darin,
So there are two services they offer in respect to this: their own hosted service and their PaaS (platform as a service).

Mark,
So you are hosting on your own servers today but you are now migrating to their own hosted platform where they operate the infrastructure? It seems that most people will start out on hosted to save upfront costs and then eventually migrate to their own platform to save money over time.
You're doing it opposite so if possible, can you elaborate on how this will reduce your ops costs enough to actually offset the additional costs of paying them for hosting instead of you doing it yourself? Is there a large cost in them hosting it vs. you doing your own servers?
Thanks

Hi Lee,
We have been running our own infrastructure. However, we are in the process of migrating to the 2600hz PaaS solution as it has shown to significantly reduce ops costs.

Both actually. When first available for geek purposes. However when business began to thrive I contracted with 2600hz so I could focus on the business side. Their services are far more reasonable, especially price wise, than the licensing and support from the likes of broadsoft - leaving more room to compete in the marketplace.

you should also check out Netsapiens if you are looking to run this on your own. Also, Nexogy in Miami overlays a really nice B/OSS for netsapiens, 888voip, netxusa, a couple of sip carriers and 911 carriers along with flow through quoting to provisioning. netsapiens.com nexogy.com Shri On Fri, Jun 30, 2017 at 10:11 AM, Jason Schmidt <jschmidt at giganection.com> wrote:

We need to be able to utilize our Origination and Termination providers and E911 provider. We would like to have API access for provisioning from our B/OSS system, but this is not required. We handle both residential voice and business UC services.
