AT&T is shutting down "Watson" Speech to Text API... does anyone have a similar platform? - cost was very inexpensive $99 / year for 1,000,000 transcriptions or something like that. - already built dictionary , IBM Watson requires we build the dictionary Trying to send .wav files (asterisk voicemail) and get back a transcription of the voicemails. *Ideally we house the machine so we are sure no one copies the voicemails. Thanks, Aryn 808.356.2901

I used to be a customer of AT&T but after the shutdown notice I ported all my code to use the Google Cloud Speech API (https://cloud.google.com/speech/) Currently we have it deployed as part of an SMTP relay server to provide inline transcription of WAV files and it works as well if not better than AT&T however the pricing is higher ? Does anyone have privacy concerns about sending that data to Google? Do you specifically notify your clients if they are in Healthcare? Thanks David On Wed, Sep 14, 2016 at 1:19 PM, Matthew M. Gamble <mgamble at thoughtfire.ca> wrote:

If the data isn't "stored" HIPAA won't care much. And I know that's arguable. but HIPAA covered clients are 5% if not less of business. Aryn H. K. You can use Watson as a service direct from IBM. http://www.ibm.com/watson/developercloud/speech-to-text.html On Sep 14, 2016, at 13:16, Aryn Nakaoka 808.356.2901 <anakaoka at trinet-hi.com> wrote: AT&T is shutting down "Watson" Speech to Text API... does anyone have a similar platform? - cost was very inexpensive $99 / year for 1,000,000 transcriptions or something like that. - already built dictionary , IBM Watson requires we build the dictionary Trying to send .wav files (asterisk voicemail) and get back a transcription of the voicemails. *Ideally we house the machine so we are sure no one copies the voicemails. IBM didn't format phone numbers as well as AT&T. I think we are going to try Google Speech to see how the formatting is. Aryn H. K.
