The release notes of Yate 2.1 (released 02 November 2009) contain what struck me initially as a somewhat extraordinary claim - that its new MTP2/MTP3 support combined with MGCP can be used as a drop-in replacement for a Cisco PGW2200 to drive Cisco AS5xxx series gateways. At first glance, this does appear to be possible. Does anyone have any experience or first-hand perspective on this? Of course, the media gateway control protocol is limited to MGCP - there is no H.248/MEGACO support.
