I haven't had any complaints AFAIK. We have a few hundred 212 DIDs of our own with who knows how many DID's total potentially dialing 212's. We use the usual suspects (GBLX, LVL3, VZ, AT&T) so I'm not seeing anything. -- =+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+ J. When I shout all the way over there, yes. Using the PSTN, no. Ujjval, this is your third or fourth initial post that is meaningless --that is, it has a communicative magnitude of zero--through lack of supporting details. -- Alex Balashov - Principal Evariste Systems LLC 1170 Peachtree Street 12th Floor, Suite 1200 Atlanta, GA 30309 Tel: +1-678-954-0670 Fax: +1-404-961-1892 Web: http://www.evaristesys.com/

Plus, I have seen posts here which have asked folks not to mention carrier names and other details on issues like these. A complete account of the problem is not possible without something other than, "calls to 212 don't work." That's almost as bad as, "calls don't work." If there is a prohibition here against mentioning carrier names and concrete TNs, mention something else of utility. -- Alex Balashov - Principal Evariste Systems LLC 1170 Peachtree Street 12th Floor, Suite 1200 Atlanta, GA 30309 Tel: +1-678-954-0670 Fax: +1-404-961-1892 Web: http://www.evaristesys.com/

They tend to be less abstract. In your case, that would mean specifying the terminating carrier and/or the providers in question and/or the prefixes. These details eventually come out because someone replies asking for clarification, but it would certainly be more efficient to just include them to begin with. -- Alex Balashov - Principal Evariste Systems LLC 1170 Peachtree Street 12th Floor, Suite 1200 Atlanta, GA 30309 Tel: +1-678-954-0670 Fax: +1-404-961-1892 Web: http://www.evaristesys.com/

Usually postings mention NPA or even a region - like the last one was was San Francisco area....that is how it was started. So I am not sure what you are saying is accurate. As we discover other people having issues and there is a commonality, we can provide more information. Sometimes very broad questions are appropriate, assuming the questioner understands that the answers will be equally broad. With my last SF post, I was able to get a rough sense of the boundaries of the issue, and sometimes that's pretty useful.
