Does anyone use the Grandstream FXS gateways like the GXW4008? It has 8 FXS ports, 1 FXO port, 2 Fast Ethernet Ports, and cost $156 new from distribution. We are having more clients that need 2 to 8 phone lines. We typically use Adtan 900/900e series gateways, but these gateways new cost 3 to 4 times more than this Grandstream unit. One thing we don't like about the Adtran units is they have built in T1/PRI ports which we rarely use. I am wondering how good is the Grandstream SIP stack? How good is its debug options? Does it have any voice quality monitoring tools like Adtran has built in? Does it have a web inteface where you can see active calls, registrations, calls logs, etc? What other options besides Grandstream and Adtran are out there for multi line FXS gateways? I have heard good things about Edgewater. There are about a million no names FXS gateways out there it seems.

I'll second the SPA 8000, the only time we deployed a TA900 was if we were doing T1/PRI. I like AudioCodes too but they are almost as expensive as Adtran from what I recall. Is the SPA 8000 certified by Broadsoft? Seems like a great product as it have both FXS ports via RJ-11 or by amp RJ-21. Does Broadsoft has a device template for this unit? On Mon, Mar 16, 2015 at 7:57 AM, Rob Dawson <rdawson at force3.com> wrote:

Colton, You're in luck, sort of. There is a PCG but the SPA 8000 is pretty much like all the other generic Linksys SPA devices so you won't find any super specific help from BSoft on it. Main differences are # of ports and the addition of the trunk feature compared to the basic 1 or 2 line ATAs. I recommend logging into the ATA as "admin" and download the raw XML with the default config, then make some changes you're interested in and download a new copy of the XML, then diff them. There's also a bunch of dynamic cruft you can trim out of the configs, like the current time. For some reason, that stuff is exposed in the downloaded XML. One more pointer I can offer is the indexing of trunks 1,2,3,4 are actually in the XML as 9,10,11,12 because the physical line ports are referenced with indexes 1-8 already. PCG is here: http://xchange.broadsoft.com/php/xchange/system/files/Interop/PartnerConfigu... Just got a pict off list they are wall mountable: http://pebbles.provu.co.uk/~tim/spa_8000_bottom.jpg Should we be concerned that cisco hasn't release a firmware update for these devices since 30-JUL-2013? Is the firmware just that stable that there is no need? Like a mentioned I am worried Cisco is going to EOL their small business line of VoIP products. Distributors have been saying this for a while, but is there any truth to it? On Tue, Mar 17, 2015 at 10:41 AM, Rob Dawson <rdawson at force3.com> wrote:

Hi Colton - We've just commenced distributing FlyingVoice products - they're a leading supplier of IP phones, ATAs, etc., in the Asian market. The G508 might fit your bill :8 x FXS ports, two fast Ethernet ports, retails at $149. I'd be happy to arrange a loaner/demo unit for you to evaluate if you wish or, alternatively, if you'd like to have a look at its configuration interface, we can give you access to a unit here. --Dave On Sun, Mar 15, 2015 at 5:19 PM, Colton Conor <colton.conor at gmail.com> wrote:

Thank everyone for the recommendations. Here are my thoughts on the recommendations sumbitted so far: 1. cisco devices like the IAD243x, VG224,VG248. Most of theses seems EOL, and I have a hard time beleiving that Cisco new is going to be cheaper than Adtran. I am looking for alternatives to Adtran that are cheaper than Adtran. 2. Audiocodes MP series. Audiocodes seems like a good brand. Which model do you recommend? How do they compare pricing wise to Adtran? 3. Cisco SPA 8000. Is this considered a Cisco Small Business voice product? I heard a long time ago Cisco was discontinuing their small business line. Any thoughts on that? I don't want to dive deep into a product that is going to be discontinued. 4. FlyingVoice products, I have never heard of these before, but there are tons of low cost Asian models that come to mind. I am looking for something that is very reliable, and preferably Broadsoft certified. This does fit the price point. 5. Mediatrix boxes: I have heard of these, and like what I see. What models do you recommend? Their website seems to have multiple models that would fit the bill 6. ObiHai 5xxvs series. Seems very interesting, I though this company only made google voice and skype ATAs looks like they have expanded. I like how they has USB and paging ports built in for expansion, and their cloud based system seems to be nice. Ideally, I would probably want features like the Adtran 908e including: - RJ21 Amp connector for use with 66 block. Most of these low cost products have RJ-11 ports for each line. That is doable, but prob not prefered. - Unit needs to be wall mountable - We would hope that the device was certified by Broadsoft, and has a Broadsoft device template for DMS. - Have some kind of voice quality monitoring built in, hopefully with MOS scores. Does Adtran make a FXS gateway without the T1/PRI ports at a lower cost? On Sun, Mar 15, 2015 at 7:10 PM, Ryan Delgrosso <ryandelgrosso at gmail.com> wrote:
