We are a CLEC and regularly port numbers over from the ILEC (ATT) who we have an ICA with. Would we be able to port cellular/wireless numbers from say Verizon or Sprint over to us as a landline CLEC without an ICA? I know we could do it from the Neustar/NPAC side of things, but would Verizon/Sprint/etc. release the number? Thanks! -Eric

Eric, IMHO I think that they will have to release the number. Remember that you need to provide them account number and account password, in addition to the LOA, In order for them to release a cell phone number. This is a tricky part because customers not always know what their password is, and often provide the voicemail or online password. Let me know how it went. Good luck, Oren On Mon, Jul 11, 2011 at 1:54 PM, Eric Hiller <clec at cygnustel.com> wrote:

You may or may not be able to do this, but I think the bigger question is how would the call get back to your switch if you don't have any interconnection trunks with them. I take it there is some subtle reason related to the donors being wireless carriers for which the calls wouldn't just come in through an ILEC tandem? -- Alex Balashov - Principal Evariste Systems LLC 260 Peachtree Street NW Suite 2200 Atlanta, GA 30303 Tel: +1-678-954-0670 Fax: +1-404-961-1892 Web: http://www.evaristesys.com/ On Jul 12, 2011, at 9:26 AM, "Mary Lou Carey" <marylou at backuptelecom.com> wrote:

Carriers only need to port to carriers with an ICA and network inter-connection. On 7/12/2011 9:46 AM, Alex Balashov wrote:
