Maintenance for Performance Technologies SEGway

We have been using a set of PTI SEGway x201s with point code emulation for a number of years now. We also have an unlicensed spare in stock. The maintenance contract renewals are due and the two quotes I've received are quite high. I know of at least one other company that has chosen to drop the vendor maintenance and take care of that in-house. I would like to hear from anyone that is currently using SEGways and find out what they chose to do for maintenance. I would also be very interested to hear of any bad experiences from chosing the in-house option. Thanks. I'd be academically curious in the responses too, though I don't think I'd move away from PT branded support. The costs of failure are just too high, and I've been quite impressed with the support we've received with them. Just out of curiosity, in the case of a hardware failure, how would you license your standby unit without them issuing a license? -Aaron On 7/25/2012 6:51 AM, Scott Stratman wrote:

We have been using a set of Sonus(Performance Technologies Inc) SEGway x201s with SS7 point code emulation for a number of years. Factory support is no longer available on these boxes so I need to consider the alternatives. We are considering some other options from Sonus as well as Genband and Meta. Has anyone converted from the SEGway platform? If so, what did brand/model did you use and what was your experience with that conversion? Thanks for your help.
