One of our customers is claiming that when they call their T-Mobile cell phones, the CLID is correct, but they get CNAM such as "Reception1" and "Lab2". Those are the internal names of the phones. This seems impossible. Anyone heard of this being possible? The calls were sent via Onvoy.

It's possible if the traffic is flowing over a private interconnect that honours those fields. On Fri, Mar 24, 2017 at 01:43:44PM -0700, Carlos Alvarez wrote:

From what I could tell the subscriber did not need to be using the Name ID service? it occurred on any T-Mobile phone. Also, it appears it overrides CNAM data.

Cool. Thank you. BTW, That?s the way it has always worked in Canada on 100% of landlines and (unfortunately only) one mobile carrier. We don?t have CNAM at all. This may be a duplicate. I got an error from the list server the first time I sent it. They sent proof, it's definitely happening. Very interesting. We change the CLID from the extension number to the DID/main number during outbound call processing, but not the CNAM. Looks like we will have to set that now. In a previous company, we had code to set CNAM, because our PRI-connected carrier accepted it and used it instead of a dip for on-net calls. Another interesting thing is that it seems to only happen randomly, according to the call logs they sent. On Fri, Mar 24, 2017 at 2:19 PM, Ivan Kovacevic < ivan.kovacevic at startelecom.ca> wrote:
