Call Quality Scoring?

This may be a silly question.....is there any way that I can get a MOS or PESQ score for a call? I have an access line in Malaysia that's really quite bad quality. The provider says it "sounds fine to them." I'd like to have some empirical evidence that it's bad. I've setup an automated system to answer the line a play a known recording. Now I just need some way to take a measurement. Any ideas? Hello all, We are looking for recommendations for reliable wholesale Mexico DID providers with wide coverage, international reachability and consistent Caller ID delivery. Currently using Voxbone but looking to diversify. Ideal price point is below $2.5 per DID and .003/minute if metered or ~$6/channel if channel based. Issues reaching UK DIDs and UK Numbers?

I'm not sure if it is Brexit related, but a customer is reporting and we are seeing delays, higher-than-usual busy responses and straight-up failures in reaching UK destinations, and reaching some of our London DIDs. Adapting nonDIDs to a E.164 plan

Good morning. I could use the opinion and expertise of this group for a quick question. I work for a large not-for-profit organization which is coordinating dial plans for several sites. We have a contiguous block of 50K DIDs which gets us off to a nice start for an E.164 plan. We also own about 15K other DIDs shotgunned throughout several NADP area codes, which would also mesh nicely into an E.164 plan. Assume we are able to us ISDN and SIP. My question is, what is the best way to handle devices which are currently assigned nonDIDs on our private voice network? Obviously, they are not addressable from the PSTN now, so it's not a big deal if they can't be called from the outside. What I am struggling with to explain to my group is how these numbers may be best adapted to the new plan so that they can still be called internally. I have looked for related RFCs. I thought I found one that suggested using a generically owned E.164 number followed by a semi-colon and the nonDID address. I can't find the RFC now. That may work for equipment that can form a URI like that. I also suggested assigning a real E.164 number to these devices. Too many. I also considered most our our IPPBXs have an intercom feature that allows us to group and assign a locally significant address to the devices. That might be the way to go. I'm interested to hear how other people are doing this downtown. Is the group aware of any related RFCs we may review? Thanks and have a great weekend! Tony

Help Identifying Strange Tone

This is an interesting one. I'm running into issues with a fax application for a few numbers that are playing back a strange tone I have yet to identify. I originally thought it was FAS with international ringback, but it's occurring on a variety of numbers on various networks. The tone is playing immediately upon answer. Any help identifying what is causing this tone or what it is intended for is appreciated. The numbers are all fax lines and do get the proper CED after this tone. I can't find any matching tone in the T.30 ITU-T rec. As best I can figure, it's 400Hz with a 0.03s period on/off cycle, played 1s on 2s off. Listen at the below link. Wholesale Voice Carriers with Instant Porting

I am looking for a nationwide CLEC/Carrier that has the best porting process available. In my mind, this is: 1. The ability to port most numbers, and port them to their own network. That way they are only dealing with the losing carrier's porting department, and not having to send the port to an off-net carrier waiting and going through their porting department. 2. Have paid the ridiculous high priced API fee to Nuestar to allow for instant porting on the FOC date. Meaning they have built some sort of interface for wholesale customers so we can login online to upload ports, run CSRs, etc. 3. Once a port is confirmed, on the FOC date, have the ability to initiate the port at our time of choosing. Not at a forced specific time frame (like 10AM every morning), but if I want to port it a 4:59PM I can do so, and the process will flow though without any human intervention. 4. The ability to do instant porting on mobile numbers. Example, if we want to port a mobile number away from Verizon Wireless and convert it to a SIP line, I have heard you can do that instantly if you have the account pin of the Verizon Wireless number. This is less important than the other 3 items. Which carriers have this capability? I know no one carrier can be on-net everywhere, but I assume one of the big boys would fit this bill. What about the following carriers: Level3 Bandwidth Onvoy/Broadvox/Viteility Verizon AT&T (Do they have a wholesale SIP product?) Centurylink Inteliquent What are their porting capabilities and user facing portals like? There might be a reseller that could fit this bill if they built their own portal, and built on API's to the larger carriers. Please keep it on list.

Appearance of an International call

Group; I have noticed some weird trouble cases, over the past year, dealing with US originated calls showing up on a cell phone as an international call, using the first 2-digits as a country code. On one incident, we worked with Verizon, to really nail down the culprit. Their engineer was very interested in finding the root cause and he spent a lot of time with us (as well as our carriers and our customer) trying to figure out what was causing this to occur. He determined, in their network anyway, it was how they were treating call information when he activated the VoLTE service. If he turned off the service, on the same phone, the caller ID information would be correct. When he activated the VoLTE, the information was incorrect and said it was an international call and provided the country it thought the call originated from. He said there is nothing he can currently do about it, other than turning off VoLTE? and we all know that isn?t going to happen. All of the complaints, we have had, have been to iPhones. *There is also another cause for this behavior that has to do with a CNAM-Like AP, some people had activated, and that had us chasing our tails for a while as well.* What I am wondering is, how many other folks out there are running into these scenarios and?. 1. What are your telling your customers? 2. What are your carriers telling you. 3. What have you determined the issue was? Also, if what we have been being told is incorrect, then I?d like to know that too. Several of our customers are negatively affected by this and we really need to figure out a solution for the industry. Thanks; Kidd
