FCC issues Declaratory Ruling on Call Termination

The FCC issued a Declaratory Ruling today in regards to call termination. The ruling prevents originating carriers from passing the buck to LCR, puts responsibility on them if they are aware of degraded service, and attaches some stiff fines. It would seem to me that this would prevent Google Voice and others, such as Level3, from not terminating to certain (more expensive) NPA/NXXes. Frank

Looking for a reputable UK VoIP term & orig provider

Hey folks, I'm looking for a provider of orig & term that is local in the UK to do business with. You must own your own term/orig equipment and peer with a carrier out there, I don't want man-in-the-middle resellers who are just LCRing VoIP minutes if possible. Any suggestions? Feel free to email off list to avoid spamming everyone with ads. Include the type of equipment you use to terminate calls with and who you peer with, if that's a reasonable request. Thanks, Darren

question about campus installations

Calix C7 might be overkill for this project, but you can do 24x20 ports in a single Chassis this way. I believe they have smaller chassis nowadays too. Experiences with VoIP and 100+ seat sites

Hi folks, I'd love to hear some stories (good or bad) of hosted PBX VoIP installs on 100+ seat sites (single site). Specifically if you've done this with Broadsoft or another solidified switch. I have mixed opinions on how this type of scenario can be successful and now I'm being pressed by a client on a formal opinion. I figure having it based on experience from others on a similar product is worth hearing about. Specifically curious about how you addressed call quality issues and ensured bandwidth and uplink were sufficient. As much detail as you're willing would be great, on or off list. Thanks, Darren

PSTN Forwarding - Broadsoft and Adtran

I have this all configured - trunk group identity defined in BS, configured on the Adtran, I can see the tgrp and trunk-context info in the invite - call is being rejected with a 404 by the NS. Output from vtri shows that the call fails at OrigRedirect due to line/port not found. Thoughts and input greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rob

Broadsoft Trunking Call Capacity Question

Quick provisioning related question - If you contract for a full PRI do you set Trunking Call Capacity to 23 or do you set it to some lower value and allow bursting? Thanks, Rob
