Cisco Gateways, REFER and TBCT/ECT

Folks, Has anyone had any luck getting the Cisco VoIP gateways to do a TBCT or ECT when they receive a REFER message for a SIP call? In theory there is a way to do this in TCL script but I have never been able to get anyone at Cisco who knew how to actually configure it or make it work. For what it's worth AudioCodes supports this out the box in an extremely painless manner. As close to plug and play as you can get in TDM land. What to look for in a SIP Trunking concept?

Trying to develop an Enterprise SIP trunking concept that allows us the flexibility to interconnect with the major PBX vendors on one side and SIP trunking providers on the other side. Looking at ACMEPACKET as the Integrator SBC box for this concept. One thought was to ask the PBX vendors and Service Provider if they have adopted the SIP Connect 1.1 standard? I'm not a voice expert so would really appreciate any comments and /or suggestions on what we need to be weary of from each party as we develop this concept, especially with regard to regulatory obligations. CPE IAD recommendations

Hello, Can anyone recommend a small market Integrated Access Device (IAD) that is capable of being a SIP Trunk endpoint with Broadsoft? I have a few points of criteria that we are looking at: 1. Supports up to 8 FXS ports. 2. Compatible with keyed-system PBX's. 3. Prefer a manufacturer with a strong, responsive support team. 4. Price: around $500. Thanks, Eric

Least Cost Routing engines/solutions

Folks, I am looking for recommendations for solutions to implement an LCR engine in my network. I am BroadSoft based service provider that leverages the routing capabilities in that platform but that does not seem like it is designed for LCR use. I am open to open source implementations as well. At this point I am not restricting my search from a budget perspective - I just want to see what is out there and what others have done. I've been asked to start researching our next soft switch that will replace an asterisk based VoIP platform. Currently were reselling service in other markets that are outside of our home market. So I am starting my research on Meta, Sonus, Broadsoft, and some competing platforms. What I can't find is what is the price range on anything without talking to sales and even at that it's usually a long drawn out process at least that's my experience with other gear. I would really like to find out the price range on some of these switches. I am not looking for specific pricing just kind of a ball park. Right now I am still in the idea stage. We just started the process of negotiating interconnection agreements so I don't expect us to get real serious on a switch selection until early 2010. In the meantime I want to learn as much as I can about possible gear but I don't want to spend time on something I don't think will be close to the budget. Richey

If you are looking for a T1/Ethernet Cisco 2431-8FXS / 2431-16FXS. On the grey / bay market they are about 500 to 700 depending on which way the wind blows. I have used the Adtran 900 series routers and had a really bad experience with some Mitel SX200s but I have one running with an Intertel that would not work with a Cisco over at T1 port. Linksys has one as well but it?s Ethernet only. I can?t remember the model but it is an 8 port we are using at a very picky customer?s office. Not a word out of him since we turned the box up a month ago.
