I use LocalCallingGuide.com from time to time. It looks like their DB is about 2+ weeks out of date: Last updated: Sun, 28 Feb 2021 19:06:05 UTC I haven't successfully reached the Groups.IO mailing list, and I don't know who actually runs the service. Robocall Mitigation in lieu of STIR/SHAKEN

The FCC is mandating that service providers must fully implement STIR/SHAKEN or certify that they are taking reasonable steps to avoid originating illegal robocall traffic in the portions of their network where STIR/SHAKEN can't be implemented. They have also declined to specify what those steps might be, though there may be more information available when they clarify the certification process by March 30th. What steps are people taking to meet this robocall mitigation requirement when STIR/SHAKEN is not able to be implemented? David

AT&T Verizon to block text messaging

Hello, Does anyone have some deep knowledge about AT&T and Verizon's move to create their own walled gardens and prevent messages from the outside world from coming in, unless they approve each and every phone number (and you obviously pay for that approval)? Next thing they will block emails from other networks, or maybe all IP traffic. Thanks, Oren

Grandstream call forwarding and local calling features

We primarily use their phones in a hosted service. A recent firmware change has made it so that call forwarding on the phone ONLY works if you have "enable local calling features" turned on. We always had it off, because we use *number for a lot of other special purposes. For example, *extension is to transfer calls directly to VM. *CO is each customer's conference bridge. Etc. If you enable local features, the phone traps anything that pattern matches their built in, partially undocumented codes. So a customer with extensions like 30x cannot dial *309 to send the call to VM. Anyone have ideas on this?

Wholesale MMS Group Messaging and Applications

Which wholesale voip carriers successfully support Group Messaging? I know bandwidth.com does as they have a whole section about it on their webpage below. Does Intelliquient, Level3/ CenturyLink, Flowroute, Telnyx, Twilio, or other providers? Note, this is different than just regular SMS or MMS support. I think most all carriers support SMS, some support MMS, and few support group MMS. A better question is what softswitch, apps, or platforms support the MM4 or API of said wholesale carriers assuming they support Group messaging? For example, I think bandwidth supports the API/MM4 protocol, but they do not provide the end customer facing applications. They want you to hire a programmer to do this. Broadsoft and Metaswitch don't support MMS to my knowledge as they are built on XMPP for chatting protocols. They support SMS, but not MMS nor group MMS to my knowledge. Netsapiens does not either, I believe. 2600hz only does SMS. Who else out there has native MMS support? Group Messaging is characterized by an SMS conversation among 3 or more recipients at the same time. This is a many-to-many exchange of messages. Group messaging is typically sent as MMS messages. Huge increase of scam calls?

Our customers are reporting a very large increase in spam/scam calls in the last week or so. Anyone else seeing the same? Any idea why? One number I tracked is getting nearly 50 per day. All fake caller ID of course.

We have a DNS A record that intermittently stops resolving on Spectrum DNS. Clients won?t be able to reach it for a few days. And then it starts working again. Can someone at Spectrum reach out? iconectiv vs. Neustar

I know that the database operations moved from Neustar to iconectiv a few years ago. What are the pros\cons to operationally using iconectiv vs. Neustar?
