Is anyone else seeing lots of long duration calls to the 605-562 exchange that when you dial the respective number, it supervises to dead air? Seems like a new kind of toll fraud that international fraud detection systems won't catch. -Paul

SHAKEN/STIR

Hi, Does anyone know if there are any email lists for SHAKEN/STIR. All I have seen so far is the RFC's and the IETF which is very bland. I am looking to see if there are any groups that are working on possible libs for SHAEKN/STIR as well as OSS to make things a bit easier. TIA. Regards, Dovid

LCA file for Broadworks across provinces / states

Hi, I was building an LCA file for a VoIP provider that uses Broadworks. I noticed that the LCA file examples I've been given only lists the rate center names, not the provinces. Yet in LERG6 and LERG8, short and long names for rate centers are not unique across all provinces / states. Sherbrooke QC and Sherbrook NS, for example, is listed as SHERBROOKE for both it's shot and long name. Should the LCA file distinguish these two rate centers by listing SHERBROOKE, QC as PQSHERBROOKE? If not, what field in NNACL should I use to distinguish them? Cant say it's 100% correct, but based on LERG8's V & H coordinates, the two rate centers are 482 miles apart. It also shows that each rate center has two unique NPA's in them as well. I would think they would not be in the same local calling area, but I don't know Canadian tarrifs. Using a PERL script... BroadWorks distinguishes the same names based on LATA. E.g., there are tons of ?Springfield?s and ?Albany?s in the US and Canada but in different LATAs. If you?re using BroadWorks LCA, then you?ll also need to load an NNACL-formatted file. (I think that?s usually excerpted from LERG6.) Of course, BroadWorks doesn?t really care where you get the data. It?s certainly possible to create inconsistencies. AT&T Mobility Hawaii can not call Verizon Enterprise 808-822-2464

Hi, Hoping an at&t mobility engineer is on this list. Att mobility Hawaii towers can't call 8088222464 but can from US mainland towers so the tech support guys can't recreate it unless they are in Hawaii. 8088222464 is a Verizon Enterprise number and Verizon says they don't see the calls hitting their Network. They see the calls on the att network via ss7 but do not see the calls leaving att, so they can't make a ticket. Any help would be appreciated. Aryn Nakaoka 808.356.2901

Creating an International Rate Deck

Hey group, I have a question that I have been struggling with for years and have never come up with a good solution for. It revolves around International Rate Deck creation, but i guess it could be for any tariff. We have multiple carriers for International, however, i'm trying out Thinq right now so we can use their LCR. Our other carriers aren't very successful with Intl. Thinq's rate deck to me is 6 carriers for each prefix, making it around 215,000 lines. The carrier(s) that have the lowest cost for each prefix varies, so i can't turn off the most expensive three or something like that. I was thinking of taking the least expensive 3 carriers and then averaging them and creating my rate from that average and then only allow Thinq to go 3 carriers deep. Does anyone have any experience with this? Are there any best practices? The second part of the question is how does one calculate the profit margin? Let's say you wanted to make 35% for retail and 20% for wholesale, but if you call UK landline, the cost is only 0.004. Your rate would be 0.0054 for retail and 0.0048, which is nothing. We have been doing something like If your cost is less than 0.03, then increase by 35% or 20% or whatever. however, that doesn't always work if the cost is super close to your target. Does anyone have any hard and fast rules that they use when creating decks? is there software that can help my puny brain think through this? Thanks ! Shri

AT&T LRN Issue?

Anyone from AT&T monitoring here? We have a customer that some AT&T customers cannot dial. I'm guessing it's related to a stale LRN. We ran into this recently with Windstream, and it was a bear to get addressed... but they finally did and admitted the error on their end. Or... anyone have a good channel to contact AT&T for such issues? Thank you, Mark

Hi, Is any one having issues between Verizon and Peerless networks? We have been hearing lot of complaints and from what we have been hearing it's issues with T1's on Verizons side. Has anyone else heard anything like this?
